Ingredients for the crust:
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1/4 a cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cherry or strawberry jam
Mix all the ingredients together for one minute or until fluffy. Press the dough into the bottom of an ungreased pan and bake for 10 minutes.
To prepare the filling, place all the ingredients except for the jam in a bowl and mix until smooth. Spread the mixture over the crust and put tablespoons of the jam on top. Run a knife back and forth through the filling, being careful not to cut the crust, to distribute the jam. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool and cut into 2-inch squares.
